Real time solar wind data from ACE, provided by the Space Weather Prediction Center, are used to compute the model output shown in red. This is compared to the real time Dst index, shown in blue, provided by the World Data Center for Geomagnetism, Kyoto.
The Dst value at a specific time is the average of the past hour. For example, a dst value at 0100UT is the average Dst between 00:01 UTC and 01:00 UTC.
Data gaps in the solar wind data are indicated by missing points in the figures.
