Antares

Through its links with the Particle Physics and Particle Astrophysics Group in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, the Space Systems Laboratory became involved with ANTARES, Astromony with a Neutrino Telescope and Abyss environmental RESearch in 1997.

ANTARES is a first generation neutrino telescope consisting of arrays of photo-detectors to form a large area water Cherenkov detector and is sited within the Medeterranean Sea.
