Fifteen years ago we initiated a survey project "The Nainital-Cape survey" aiming to discover and study the pulsation in chemically peculiar stars in Northern hemisphere. Although the emphasis in the first few years of the survey was on field stars but we have recently extended the survey to incorporate also open star clusters because the probability of occurrence of A-type stars in young and intermediate open star clusters is high. The observations for this project were acquired from ARIES, Nainital and SAAO, South Africa using high-speed photometric technique. In this talk I will summarize the our contribution towards the asteroseismology and discuss the future prerspective of Asteroseismology in the light of up-coming ground based observational facilities at ARIES.
